Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Mary Susan Kosman passed away July 20, 2024. She was born December 23, 1965, in Newark, Ohio, to Philip and Starr (nee Mechling) Cummings. Mary married the love of her life, Wayne Kosman, on June 20, 1987, and together they made their home in Hinckley, Ohio.
Mary had a heart of gold. She was devoted to her family, especially her husband, children, and grandchildren, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Mary was a gifted singer and shared her talent with a number of church choirs and also the Medina Chorus. She had a love for children and worked as the director of the latchkey program at Hinckley Elementary School for 34 years. She touched many lives throughout the community, and she will be dearly missed by everyone who was privileged to know her.
Mary's memory will be treasured by her husband of over 37 years, Wayne Kosman; sons, David (Samantha) Kosman and Cory Kosman; grandchildren, Morgan and Audrey; parents, Philip (Rebecca) Cummings and Starr Cummings; siblings, Chuck Weikle, Jennifer (Rob) Pettet, Mark Cummings, Tim Cummings, Todd (Jenny) Cummings, Keri Cummings, Brian (Alison) Smith, and Christina Held; mother-in-law, Caroline Kosman; brother-in-law, Mark (Jody) Kosman; sister-in-law, Laurie Kosman; and her dear cat, Sox. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Edward Kosman.
The family will welcome guests from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1605 Center Road, Hinckley, Ohio, with visitation at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mary's name to Our Saviour Lutheran Church Music Fund or the Medina Chorus.
