Milo Murphy Abercrombie

Milo Murphy Abercrombie, 83, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on October 5, 2026. He was born on October 12, 1942, in Gadsden, Alabama, to the late Robert and Betty Sue (Murphy) Abercrombie.

Milo earned a master’s degree in Hospital Administration from Georgia State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, including service in Vietnam, and retired as a Major in 1975. Following his military service, he built a successful career in Healthcare Administration, retiring as CEO of NE Care Centers in 2007. Milo was a strong advocate for people with developmental disabilities, mental health issues and those unable to advocate for themselves.

An inventor and craftsman, Milo combined his passion for hunting and gunsmithing with his ingenuity to establish Crossfire Ammunition. His work resulted in a patent—a lasting reflection of his creativity and determination.

Milo was a man of many talents and interests. An exceptional musician, Milo began playing piano at age 5 and as an adult he starred in Oliver Twist as Fagin. Later in life, he enjoyed leading worship and performing songs like “I will Rise Again” and “Amazing Grace”. Milo loved golfing, fishing and cooking. He took great pride in grilling and cooking for his family and friends.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Milo’s greatest joys were found in his faith, his wife and the life he built with those he loved. On August 11, 1990, Milo married Trudy, beginning a marriage rooted in deep love, tenderness, laughter, and an enduring devotion to one another. Through the years, they traveled together, welcomed the births of many grandchildren and great grandchildren, celebrated life’s joys, and stood beside one another through its challenges. Their love was evident not only in the life they shared, but in the quiet, everyday ways they cared for one another. Together, they built a life strengthened by faith, centered on family, and grounded in their love for God and for each other.

Milo is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Mary “Trudy” Abercrombie; his children, Betty Lynn Abercrombie, Nara Leigh Abercrombie, Richard Rohrer Roush (Sheryl), Theresa L. Krichbaum (David), and Mary Catherine Thompson (Fredd); 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and his brother, “Tony” Mac Anthony Abercrombie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Amy Jo Abercrombie and Michelle Marie Roush; his sister, Nancy Abercrombie; and his former wife, Susan Pierce Boozer.
