Monica C. Salter, 82, passed away on July 9, 2025, following a brief illness. Monica was born on February 5, 1943, and raised in Elyria, Ohio where she lived until retirement in 2009. She then moved to Medina, Ohio where she became an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic church where she taught PSR.

Monica was a 1961 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and then attended John Carroll University where she earned a degree in Education. She then went on to receive her Master's degree from Ashland University. Monica taught in the Elyria and Cleveland city school districts.

Monica was an avid reader, and she enjoyed traveling, playing cards and most importantly, spending time with her family.

Monica loved her family deeply and survived by her brothers, Chuck (Judy), John (Susan) and Mark (Debbie) Salter. Sisters, Rita Yost (Randy) and Lori Deamon, her caregiver. She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews and dear friend, Rosemary.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Charles and Loretta Salter and her beloved nieces, Judy Lynn Salter and Aimee Lynn Pando along with many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also preceded by her faithful companions, Snickers and Tippy.

Monica was a very loving person. She loved children, teaching and people. She never knew a stranger. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Monica truly had a heart of gold. Her generosity was endless.

Monica's family would like to thank Miracle City Hospice for their amazing, loving care and support to Monica and her family. A special thank you to Jody, Marcy, Brian and Bridget. The world is a better place with all of you in it.

The family will receive friends at Waite Funeral Home: 765 N. Court Street, Medina, OH 44256, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 1:00 pm at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Medina. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Monica's name to Miracle City Hospice or Medina County ASPCA.
