Nicolas A. Goyette, age 85, passed away in Akron, Ohio on March 27, 2025. He was born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania on October 28, 1939, to the late Nicholas A. and Francis Catherine (Caloger) Goyette. Nick married the love of his life, Janice Emerick on June 29, 1968, after graduating from Gannon University. He worked for many years as a purchasing agent for Mining Machine Parts in Medina and later the ITW Akron Standard in Akron, OH. Nick & Jan raised their two children and were blessed with four grandchildren.  Nick served his country proudly as a member of the US Armed Services. He was a member of the Army Reserves and worked in a Medical Unit during the Vietnam era. Nick loved to stay active. He enjoyed swimming and was an avid golfer. He stayed fit and enjoyed being a member of the Medina Rec Center. After retirement he enjoyed working at the Rec Center where he collected many friends and spending time with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Janice (Emerick) Goyette, his parents, and a sister, RoseMarie.

Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Dr. Michael (Dr. Julie Reeves) Goyette and Catherine (Mike) Sunderman; his beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Leah, Alessandra, and Isabella; along with a lifetime of dear friends and colleagues.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 North Court Street, Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 9:45 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E Washington Street, Medina, OH 44256.  Nick will be laid to rest alongside his wife at St Francis Xavier Cemetery.
