Obituary

Nicholas Sideris, age 40, a devoted Christian whose life was marked by love, faith, and service, left us on February 4, 2025, after a brave battle with Leukemia. Born on April 6, 1984, Nicholas embraced every day as a precious gift, devoting himself to his family, his community, and his beliefs.

He was a loving husband and a devoted father to his two wonderful sons whose smiles and laughter filled his life with joy, Nicholas' commitment to his faith led him to generously volunteer at Heartland Community Church, where his warm heart and gentle spirit touched many. He loved helping in the church nursery where he was affectionately known as the 'Baby Whisperer' for his extraordinary ability to connect with children. His love for others was infectious and he left an undeniable mark on everyone he encountered. He truly embodied the call to spread the light of Jesus on this world.

In addition to his profound spiritual commitments, Nicholas was also a proud truck driver, he loved his job dearly and genuinely cared for his coworkers as friends. His hard work and dedication not only provided for his loved ones but also reflected the resilience and determination that defined his character. He was a loyal fan of Cleveland sports teams. He never stopped believing in any of them, rooting them on… no matter what. He found great pleasure in golfing, pickleball, bowling, but most of all playing games with his family. It was important to him to cherish every moment with the people he loved, especially his boys. Today we celebrate Nicholas' life, one filled with unwavering faith, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness to all. His legacy continues to inspire all who knew him, reminding us to put God first, and to live showing the love of Jesus. Also to never lose hope or lose a commitment to making a difference. These are all examples he lived by and will be greatly missed.

Nicholas was born to Colleen Laycock and John S. Sideris II. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 11 years, Maria A. (Dennis) Sideris; their beloved sons, Niko (10) and Luca (9); his mother, Colleen Laycock; his father, John S. Sideris II; his stepmother, Phyllis Sideris; his siblings, Steve (Lori) Sideris, John (Jessica) Sideris, Anna (Joe) Zeman, and Michael Laycock; numerous nieces, nephews; and a lifetime of friends and colleagues.
