Orville C. Walker, "O.C.," age 94 of Seville, passed away on February 23, 2016. He was born in Lakewood, Ohio, on January 10, 1922, to the late Eubert and Bessie (Woodford) Walker. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theatre overseeing the maintenance of a squadron of B-25 bombers. Orville was a master craftsman and enjoyed wood carving. He also enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie and reading.
Orville is survived by his wife of 74 years, Jeannette (Fischer) Walker; children Orville C. "Skip" (Linda) Walker, Jr. and Shirley Williams; grandchildren Amy (Scott) Dorenbush, Kristen (Brian) Phillips, Shannon (Ryan) Smith, Kelly (Matt) Steiner, John (Kristin) Keefe and Dylan (Aya) Keefe; great-grandchildren Tre, Drew, Maura, Eva, Walker, Charlie, Lia, Kaia, Natalie and Mateo; and brother Corydon (Joan) Walker.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Karen L. Walker; brother Eugene Walker; and sister Betty Guterl.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on March 7, 2016, at Poe United Methodist Church, 6712 Wadsworth Rd., Medina. Burial with military honors will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11 am at the church.
