Obituary

Patricia (Nemec) Pritchard

Our mother always believed Elizabeth Taylor was the most beautiful woman in the world and wanted to look like her, so with her passing we honor her wish with this picture. Little known story, our mother did get the lead in National Velvet, but because of her allergy to horses she had to let Liz have it instead.

Patricia was born on October 19, 1931, in Cleveland, to Frank and Marie Nemec. She was an honors graduate of South High in 1949, and passed away on December 2, 2022, at the Hospice of Western Reserve with her daughter at her side.

She found the man of her dreams at the Abbeyville ball yard and married Robert Pritchard on May 5, 1951. Later she realized that she may have been hasty in saying the man of her dreams. They had two amazing children, Jeanne and Robert.

Pat loved reading mysteries, gardening, and tending to her 250 rose bushes located on Marks Rd. While she competed for many awards in the Medina County Rose Society, she was well known for her Eclipse rose and making her children hold an umbrella over it to protect it from the elements. She was an Accredited Rose Judge passing the American Rose Society test on the first try. She was a consulting rosarian and traveled to surrounding states to judge numerous rose shows.

Besides her leisure activities, Pat worked at Halle Brothers, Buckeye High School, and the Medina Community Hospital when it actually cared about the community. She retired from that job after 15 years.

Pat is survived by her two children, four nieces, two nephews, and many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews, and a few that are not so great, and you know who you are. Besides her family, left to mourn her are her three great friends, Karen McKenna, Victor Olson, and Diane Pal.

She is preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Gary and Clara Pritchard, who kept her sane; her husband of forty-nine years, Bob; sister and brother in-laws, Catherine and Charles Jarolimek, Margaret and Robert Trevis; beloved niece, Barbara Burnette and her husband Richard; great nephew, Alan Otterbacher; and double great niece, Amanda Alexander.

Pat was a 71-year member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank Hospice for their extraordinary care, Dr. Shoba Khandelwal, Dr. Vivek Khandelwal, and Dr. Pushkar Argekar who really understood her thoughts.
