Patricia Slick

Patricia “Pat” Irene Slick (nee Farnsworth) passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026. Pat was born April 15, 1934, to Lewis and Emma Pauline (Foust) Farnsworth. The fourth of seven children.

Pat graduated from Lodi High School in 1952. She was an independent sales representative for the A.I Root Company; keeping the churches of Florida well-stocked in candles over the course of her 30-year career.

Pat embodied the joy of living. She enjoyed trips to the beach, long walks to anywhere and everywhere (always take the stairs!) and was an avid reader. If you could not find Pat at home, she could likely be found tending to her garden. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Pat will be forever treasured and dearly missed by her daughter Janet (Mike) Fender of Gainesville, FL, son Rick (Teri) Schempp of Medina, OH, son Dave Schempp of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Alan (Kristie) Schempp, Rachael (Austin) Grubb, Daniel Schempp (Ashley Holecko), Kara Fender, Ericka Schempp (fiancé, Corey Hill); great-grandchildren Kayla Schempp, Ethan Schempp, and Thomas Grubb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Glenn Slick, and six siblings.

Pat’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the compassion and care shown to her by the dedicated staff of Cypress Hospice and Traditions of Medina. At Pat’s request, formal memorial services will not be held. To honor Pat’s life, her family asks that you raise a glass and share a good dessert (preferably pie)!
