Paul Michael Pilat, Jr., "Mike", age 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, surrounded by his family in the Avenue at Medina Care Center under Serenity Hospice Care.  Mike was born and raised in Cleveland, OH to Paul Sr. and Mary (Symons) Pilat.

He earned a B.S in Education from Ashland University in 1971 and a M.Div. from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2001. He began his career as a Jr High Science Teacher for Parma City Schools; then worked for Bil-Jac; became a Special Program Coordinator for Ashland University; taught college courses and led choirs at Grafton and Mansfield prisons; and finally, a Caregiver at the Society for Handicapped Citizens. But his passion was music and enjoyed many years performing with Church, Community, and Barbershop Choruses.  Loved being the bass singer for several Barbershop Quartets, most recently Lock Four, Keyed Up, Hall of Fame Chorus in Canton, and Derbytown Chorus in Akron.

Survived by wife, Janet (Bartter); children, Paul III (Renee), Adam (Melinda), and Carie (Krystle) Pilat; grandchildren, Joshua, Brittany (Aaron), Megan (Derek), Rachel (Kyle), and Jeremy; brother, Howard (Patty) and nieces, Tricia (Evat) and Jessica; and his wife's children, grandchildren, siblings, and their families.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Joseph.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Paul to Medina United Methodist Church.

Family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Medina United Methodist Church, 4747 Foote Rd, Medina, OH 44256, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
