Phillip F. Marquard

Philip F. Marquard, 82, of Medina, Ohio, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Family was at the heart of everything he did.

He and his wife, Barbara (nee Wellner), shared 61 years of marriage. He was the proud father of two sons, Philip (Donna Remy) Marquard and Aaron Thomas Marquard. He adored his grandchildren, Kate and Brendan.

Phil was happiest outdoors. He was a pilot and loved to fly, and his dogs were a lifelong passion — he had Labrador and golden retrievers and trained many of them for sport and AKC field trials. He and Barbara rode quarter horses for pleasure and spent time boating and fishing with the family.

Phil retired after a 41-year career spent in sourcing and purchasing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Elizabeth Marquard (nee Wertz); his son, Aaron Thomas Marquard; his brother, Timothy Marquard; and Timothy’s wife, Lori.

Along with Barbara, Philip, Kate, and Brendan, he is survived by his brothers, Thomas (Peggy) and Gary; his sister, Nancy (Bob) Holz; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Midwest Jesuits, Memorial and Tribute Gifts - Midwest Province.

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 10-11am at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Valley City. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11am.
