Providenza Marie Elenora DiMauro Godley

Fondly known as Prov Marie Godley, 84 of Medina, Ohio went home to our Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2026. Prov Marie was born on April 6, 1942, to Joseph Nicholas DiMauro and Mary DiMauro (Battaglia), in Ravenna, Ohio. Prov Marie was a graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School, and attended Kent State University as well.

Prov Marie is survived by her daughters Denise (Cassidy) Henkel (husband Eric) and Kelly (Cassidy) Trunk (husband Robert), and her daughter-in-law Michelle Cassidy (wife of her much beloved son, John Paul Cassidy, deceased 2018). Fondly and proudly known as Nana to her grandchildren: Angela Marie Henkel, Maria Lillian Fodor, Nicholas John Cassidy and Olivia Michelle Cassidy, Prov Marie's greatest joy was in spending time with her children and grandchildren, particularly after the passing of her beloved husband Thomas Roman Godley (deceased 2023).

Prov Marie is survived by her sister Patricia Kneale (husband Mike, deceased 2009) and brother Pat DiMauro (wife Carol), as well as their children who lovingly referred to her as Aunt Prov.

Always looking forward to the next holiday to celebrate, or wedding to go to (especially to dance), Prov Marie was very much in love with her Italian heritage and her extended family. She was a true artist, magnificent chef and baker, loved to travel and see new sights, and impressed upon her family the importance of faith and belief in the Holy Trinity, the most beautiful gift we could ever receive. She will live in our hearts until we meet again.

Please join us to honor Prov Marie's life. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St. Funeral Mass to be held Monday, September 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St. Medina.
