Rachel Helen Rickbrodt, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on July 28,2024, surrounded by her loving family. Rachel was born on September 13, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frank V. and Helen B. (Kubrak) Zaremba. Rachel loved being a teacher and finally retired from the Midview School System after 30 wonderful years. She was patient, kind, and got as much from her time with her beloved students over the years as she imparted to them. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and generally just being outside. She loved to travel (especially her many trips to Alaska and Florida) and of course she adored being the 'Awesome Aunt' in the family.

Rachel is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Thomas Lester Rickbrodt; her sisters Joyce Victor and Jolin Hansel; along with many nieces and nephews and a lifetime of collected friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1088 Ridge Rd, Hinckley, OH 44233 immediately followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. before being laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Rachel's memory be made to Holy Family Cancer Home 6707 State Rd.  Parma, OH 44134.
