Reginald 'Reg'
Campbell, Jr.
May 21, 1943 – March 18, 2025
After a long battle with cancer, Reginald A. Campbell passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025. Reginald was born on May 21, 1943, to Reginald A. and Faye (McNair) Campbell. He was a lifetime resident of Medina, graduating from Medina High School in 1962.
He worked for thirty years as a pattern maker and trouble shooter for Ford Motor Company in Brookpark. During that time, he started Campbell-Brown Construction Company with his partner, Jim Brown. After his retirement from Ford, he continued concrete work as well as snow plowing for another twenty years.
He had many interests. He loved racing anything on wheels. For many years he competed in motocross races at Smith Road Raceway and in Baja, CA. He also loved racing his Mustangs at Dragway 42. There rarely was a race he would turn down. He was also an avid movie goer throughout his life, loving westerns in particular. He must have watched Shane starring Alan Ladd at least fifty times. He loved football and was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan, Jim Brown being his favorite player of all time. His greatest joy was coaching peewee football for his son Reggie, and years later for his grandson Scott. In his later years, he traveled to Florida in order to see his two youngest grandchildren in their sports programs. He also loved going to Bob Evans for coffee every morning and chatting with his "old" friends. He also was a member of the Medina Eagles, VFW, and Moose lodges.
Reg was a hardworking but fun-loving man. He was always ready to give a hand to anyone in need. He touched many lives and made many enduring friendships. It is not an exaggeration to say that he knew half of the residents of Medina.
Reg was preceded in death by his grandson Manny Brown. He is survived by his sons, John (Cindy) Rose and Reggie (Monica) Campbell; his daughter Nancy (Dean) DiLuciano; his grandchildren, Scott Campbell, Olivia Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Tyesha Hayden, and Michaela Brown; and his great-granddaughter, Giovanna; his cousins Dolores and Doug Ziegler, and his many relatives from Canada and beyond. He is grateful for the love and care of Rhonda Huff and his ex-wife Marge Campbell. and for the devotion of his favorite dog, Lacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Reg's honor be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve (please designate Medina) at www.hospicewr.org.
A Celebration of Reggie's Life will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256. A time of sharing will take place at 1:30 p.m. Reg will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina at a later date.
