Richard W. Harley, age 84, passed away in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 24, 2021. He was born in Conneaut, Ohio, to the late Vernon and Berniece (nee Risley) Harley on April 18, 1937. He married Joan Sekerak on October 15, 1965, and they were married for 40 years until her passing in 2005.

A Brunswick resident for more than 56 years, Richard was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed amateur (ham) radio and was a member of the Brunswick Area Radio Club (BARC) and the Medina Two Meter Group. He was also a member of the Brunswick Fishing Club for many years. Richard received his bachelor's degree from Baldwin Wallace College and worked as a Safety Engineer for Case Western Reserve University for 18 years. Richard was known to his family and friends as the man who could build or fix anything. He was a gifted woodworker, mechanic, plumber, and electrician, ensuring his family never needed to hire outside help.

Cherishing Richard's memory are his children, Karen (Stephen) Reinhardt, Rich (Jacqueline) Harley, and Douglas Harley; and his grandchildren, Mary Jane, Nora Lee, Mitchell, Dylan, Edmund, and Paul. In addition to his parents and his wife, Joan, he was preceded in death by his companion, Judy Makuh.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road in Brunswick. He will be laid to rest at 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, 2869 Grafton Road in Brunswick. For those attending Richard's visitation, the family kindly requests that masks be worn by all, regardless of vaccination status. Thank you for your consideration.
