Richard Gray, Sr. age 76, passed away suddenly on April 14, 2021. He was born on April 7, 1945 in Nemacolin, PA to Fred and Goldie (Lowther) Gray. The family moved to Waynesburg, PA and Richard graduated from Jefferson-Morgan HS. Richard has lived in Medina County most of his adult life. He worked for City Plumbing & Heating in Brookpark for 20 years and was a member of Laborers Union local 310. For the past 30 years he owned and operated R & S Excavating and was still actively working.

Rick coached baseball in both the Chatham and Lafayette areas for many years. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors.

Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandra (Roby) Gray; sons, Rick Jr. (Jeni) and Steve (Sally Brown); grandchildren, Connor & Ali Gray, Addi & Coy Gray, Becca & Jessie Kiner, Danyelle Smith; step daughter, Kelly Sipe (Eric); stepson, Dave Smith(Chrissy); his faithfull canine, Sampson; brothers, Fred Gray, James Gray, Roy Gray (Ginny), Jeff Gray (Vickie); many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; many friends including his special Amish friends, David & Mary Shetler and their family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Allonia Kormanik, Dodie Fartelly; and brother, Neil Gray.

Using all current Covid safety protocols, the family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, Oh 44256. There will be a private funeral service officiated by longtime friend, Reverand Dr. Donald P. Wilson of Waynesburg, PA. Richard will be laid to rest in Chatham Cemetery.
