Obituary

Robert “Bob” Paul Hribar, 83, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away at home on October 22, 2026. He was born March 4, 1943, in Euclid, Ohio, to Frank Paul Hribar and Frances (Saje) Hribar.

Bob took pride in being a father and was a good one. He showed his love through his actions - he was there when needed, helped when asked, and took care of what mattered.

He believed in working hard, doing your best, taking care of what you have, and doing the right thing. He appreciated the satisfaction of a job well done. His example taught lessons that will stay forever with those that knew him.

Bob loved working with his hands and had a lifelong interest in cars, from classic oldies to modern models. Over the years, he owned hot rods, electric cars, and kit cars. He especially enjoyed time in the garage with his children and friends, working side by side on projects, figuring things out, making repairs, and bringing cars to life.

He also enjoyed woodworking and building things, always finding satisfaction in making or fixing something himself. He took pride in his home and yard and was a good neighbor.

Simple things were important to him - a good cup of coffee, a game of cards, and a visit with family or friends sharing a few stories and laughs.

He worked for 45 years as a mechanical engineer.

Bob is survived by Barbara (Hinkel) Hribar, with whom he shared many years and raised a family together; his children, Christine Mason of Charlevoix, Michigan, Kimberly Stark and husband John of Brunswick, Ohio, Michael Hribar and wife Paula of Grafton, Ohio and Brian Hribar and wife Luzma of Peoria, Arizona; his grandchildren, Samantha Hope (Mason) and husband Devin, Danielle Mason, Matthew Stark, and Lucas Hribar. He is also survived by his sister, Sister Francine Hribar of Lemont, Illinois; sister-in-law Betty Hribar of Willoughby, Ohio; and nephew Jim Hribar and wife Kate of Willoughby Hills, Ohio.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Frances Hribar and his brother, James F. Hribar.

A Roman Catholic funeral Mass will be held on November 27th, 2026 at 10am with visitation beginning at 9am at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish in Brunswick, Ohio. A graveside ceremony will follow at the interment of his ashes at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio, near his parents and brother. There will be no formal procession to the cemetery, please meet at the cemetery entrance at 12:15 pm.

The family requests no flowers or donations, but rather, that you honor Bob by putting into practice the values he demonstrated in his life and, when someone stops by, offer them a cup of coffee and visit for a bit.
