Robert David Forsythe, Sr., age 93, of Medina, Ohio passed away on February 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born in Millville, New Jersey to the late Thomas W. and Irene M (Ramsey) Forsythe on September 7, 1931. Robert was a devoted lifetime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Medina. He was the owner of L&S Beverage Distributors and later Doughboy Donuts of Medina and ended his career working for Island Delights. He enjoyed golfing with friends and family but most of all enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife and their grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife of 74 years, Catherine May (Reinert) Forsythe; his sister, Kathryn (Dennis) Schardt, brother Raymond (Nancy) Forsythe; children, Robin (Stanley) Hamata, Robert D. (Lynn) Forsythe, Jr., Stephen (Paula) Forsythe; his grandchildren, Nathan (Jessica) Roberts, Stanley (Gina) Hamata, Jr., Emily (Josh) Dexter, Joseph Hamata, Kristin (Conner) Alyward, Rebecca (Pete) Lundak, Robert D. (Michelle) Forsythe, III, Jamie (Paul Smith) Forsythe, Brooke (Jeremy) Majstruck, Joanna (Shawn) Wagner, Jennifer (John) Phelan, Matthew (Shawnna) Forsythe, Lisa (John) Donelan, Benjamin (Marissa) Forsythe; 26 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews along with dear friends and colleagues.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and 5 brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 12, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH. There will also be 1 hour of visitation on Thursday, February 13, at 10:00 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 400 N. Broadway Street, Medina with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve or Medina County Senior & Adult Services.
