Robert L. Ingersoll, 89 years old, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on February 17, 2026. He was born on March 10, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late George S. and Florence M. (Smith) Ingersoll.

Robert served his country in the US Army and went on to serve the City of Cleveland as a firefighter for over 25 years.   He was proud of and treasured his collection of pocket watches (especially his Ingersoll watches) and Lionel trains.

At home, he was rarely happier than when he was spending time with his family or mowing his yard.  Whether tending his grass, polishing a watch, or adding to his train collection, he found meaning in the quiet rhythms of life. He will be remembered for his bravery, his gentle spirit, and the steady love he gave to family and friends.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Barbara A. (Bucey) Ingersoll; children Donald Ingersoll (Rebecca), Becky Pagura (Tim Black), Karen Braun (David), David Harvanek (Carol), and Brian Harvanek (Melissa); grand-children Micheal, Marcus, Alexander, Abigail, Cody, Gabrielle, Dominic, Heidi, Dave, Scott, Kim, Michelle, Brian Jr., Kelly; and 12 great grand-children; his siblings Joan Thorkelson and Terry Misich (Janet); many cherished nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog Jake. He is preceded in death by his brother George Ingersoll; sister Betty Skladoni Lang; and his infant sister Judy Ingersoll.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256 with a time of sharing to begin at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Epilepsy Society .
