Robert W. Lakota, Sr., 61, of Brunswick, passed away April 24, 2026.

He was born in Fairview Park on January 11, 1965 to Robert and Nancy (Kopas) Lakota.

Robert is survived by his children, Nikkole Lakota, Robert Lakota, Jr. (fiancée Danielle), and Ryan Lakota; a grandson, Frank Watson, Jr.; a brother, Anthony Lakota; his best friend, Vincent Lawhorn; and his significant other, Christina Bolger.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Laura (Senz) Lakota.

Robert had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Strongsville since 1999. He enjoyed his job as an excavator and was very hard working. Robert loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his 1966 Chevy G10 Van. He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed listening to country and classic rock music at Blossom Music Center. He found great satisfaction in taking care of his home. He also loved animals and was a great friend, father, husband and partner.

Robert will always be remembered most as a dedicated father (taking care of his three children on his own after the death of his wife) and grandfather who was loving and helpful to everyone around him.

Visitation will be held from 2-7 pm, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., followed by Words of Remembrance at 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
