Robert Hamilton Mace, age 94, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on October 7, 2024. He was born to Blonda Carl and Mary Margarite (nee Douglas) Mace on October 6, 1930, in Creston, Ohio.

Robert proudly served his country during the Korean and Vietnam Wars in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Master Sergeant E8 with 21 years of service. He was a member of Medina County Marine Corp League, Medina VFW and former president of Medina Squares Dance Club.

A midwestern cowboy, Bob lived life on his own terms. He loved life and all the adventures, people, and places it brought him. His stories spanned the globe from Creston, Ohio to Goodnight, Texas, Parris Island, Camp Lejeune, South Korea, Okinawa, the Philippines, the ports of the Mediterranean Sea, Quantico, Yakima, Vietnam, the great highways of the United States, and the square dancing halls of Northeast Ohio. He was a father, a soldier, a protector, a mentor, and a fast friend to just about everyone he met. Known for his true grit, generosity, loyalty, flirtatious nature, and maverick spirit, "Big Bob" will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Robert is survived by his children, William "Rick" Mace (Guzide), Constance "Coni" Wolk (Fred), Kimberly Engle (James); his niece, Cheryl "Cheri" Hanna; and many much-loved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.

Family will receive friends on Thursday October,17th, from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio at 1:45 pm.
