Robert F. "Bob" McCafferty, 77, of Brunswick, OH, traded in his toolbox for a heavenly workshop on August 8, 2025, passing peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born February 17, 1948, to the late James and Sarah (Jennie) McCafferty, Bob was a natural-born problem solver—whether it was fixing a wobbly chair, building a tree fort for the kids, or getting his wife out of a speeding ticket. With a mechanical mind and a creative streak, he could turn scraps into treasures, including doll furniture that still holds up today.

Bob was married to his beloved wife, Carol (Kwitkowski), for nearly 53 years. Together, they raised four amazing children: Sharon McCafferty, the late Jennifer (Doug) Case, Eric McCafferty, and Nicole (Andrew) Biven. He was the proud grandfather of Brandon, Bailey, Landen, Savannah, Silas, Bryce, and Evelynn. He also leaves behind siblings, James McCafferty, Thomas (Karen) McCafferty, Mary Ellen (John, deceased) Zmorowski, Susan (Michael, deceased) Nowowiejski, and Gerianne (EJ, deceased) Parker; sister-in-law, Bonnie McCafferty; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Bob is reunited in Heaven with his parents, James and Sarah; his brother, William McCafferty; his sister, Judy (Tag) Powell; and his daughter, Jennifer Case.

Known for his quick wit, big laugh, and uncanny ability to "keep them honest," Bob was an active at Brunswick City Council meetings and co-hosted the beloved Bob & Steve Show on BAT local access—keeping the community informed and entertained. Bob loved the outdoors, kids, playing board games, and working with his hands. Whether he was building, fixing, or just making people smile, he lived with a generous heart and a twinkle in his eye.

The family will welcome guests from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, with a service beginning at 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Bob's legacy by fixing something that's broken, making something with your own two hands, or telling a joke that makes someone's day.
