Obituary

Robert E. Nagucki, 58, of Hinckley, Ohio entered the Kingdom of Heaven peacefully on January 23, 2026, after living a very full life and courageously battling cancer for the last seven years.

Truly a "Man for Others," Bob was a loyal friend with a generous heart. He was a thoughtful and loving man who touched countless lives with his sense of humor and quick intellect, and genuine care for people. To know Bob was to feel known. He had an extraordinary gift for remembering the details of others' lives and making each person feel important, valued, and deeply seen. He showed up for people consistently, quietly, and faithfully, and the world is better because of it.

He was born October 20, 1967, in Columbus, Ohio. A standout on both the football field and wrestling mats, Bob graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School in Toledo, Ohio where he was known for his discipline, quiet leadership, and competitive spirit. He continued his football career at Kenyon College. He was the cornerstone of the 1989 Kenyon football team – the only team in school history to win a conference championship. Widely regarded by teammates and coaches as the best player on that historic squad, Bob was voted Most Valuable Player in a season that included multiple standout performers. He also served as a co-captain his senior year, a testament to his leadership and the deep respect he earned from both teammates and coaches.

Not just an athlete, but a scholar as well, Bob went on to law school at the University of Toledo where he was a member of Law Review and the Order of Coif and then began a distinguished career in corporate law.

While his professional accomplishments were significant, Bob's greatest pride and deepest joy came from raising his four children. Being their father was the highlight of his life. He was determined to be present and involved in every stage of their lives and in all of their activities. Nothing brought him more happiness than watching them do what they loved and supporting them wholeheartedly. He traveled all over the country to sit in their cheering sections. There wasn't a temperature or weather situation he wouldn't endure to be their biggest fan. He taught them unconditional love, quiet strength, perseverance, and how to laugh often. His sense of humor, love of history, playful spirit, and shared antics will leave them with memories to treasure for a lifetime.

After a 30-year career practicing corporate law at Synthomer (formerly Omnova Solutions), Bob and devoted wife spent several cherished years traveling the world, celebrating two of their children's weddings and welcoming two beloved granddaughters. In these years, Bob delighted in simple and meaningful pleasures: time with friends at the gym, long moments with his dogs, tending to his pond, bird watching and feeding, driving fast, and being surrounded by his large and loving family. These ordinary days, filled with love and laughter, were among his greatest blessings.

Bob is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 31 years, Tammi (Diehl) Nagucki; his children: Alec (Jamie) Nagucki, Abigail (Blake) Swift, Georgia Nagucki, and Nathan Nagucki; beautiful granddaughters Alison and Anna Nagucki. He is also survived by his mother, Joyce Nagucki; birth mother Fran (Dan) Murray; brother Jason Lorcher (Christina Huang); and sisters Eryn Lorcher (Blaine Vortman) and Cindi (Kevin) Williams. Bob has been blessed with a very large and extended family that includes numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he adored and admired.

Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert R. Nagucki and biological father Jim Lorcher.

Bob's life was defined by love, faith, integrity, and the way he made others feel. His legacy lives on in his family, in the friendships he nurtured, and in the countless hearts he quietly changed by simply caring so well.
