Robert Potantus, 77, of Brunswick, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his home. Bob was born on January 5, 1948, in Berea, Ohio, the son of the late Martin and Lucy (Elton) Potantus.
Bob was a 1966 graduate of North Royalton High School. He was a United States Army veteran and proudly served during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Ford Motor Company for 40 years. He was a loving father and Papa to all who knew him. He was unapologetic and blunt when he spoke. He loved food, especially home cooked meals. He was a huge football and NASCAR fan. Bob had a passion for cars and typically had a new car every six months. He loved taking long road trips with the family. Bob also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He was also an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Grafton Police Department.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Potantus in 2014 and his sisters, June Kulmar, Jan Jarbo, and Debra Britt.
He is survived by his children, Tracie Potantus, Michele Exley, and Kimberly Potantus; grandchildren, Derek Potantus, Megan Potantus Pracko, Blake Pracko, Mackenzie Ortiz-Boyle, and Justin Boyle; great grandchildren, Kamia Potantus and DJ Monaco; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 3-7 pm at the Waite Funeral Home: 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, OH 44212 with a memorial service at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project – https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
