Robert James Shoens, Jr., age 81, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025. He was born on March 19, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Robert James Sr., and Willetta. He is survived by his beloved wife Cindy (nee Ickes); treasured children Robert William (Jaime) Shoens, Todd (Nathalia) Tankersley, and Sarah (Ryan) Everett; cherished grandchildren Haylie and Kaelyn Shoens; dear sister Linda M. Shoens; best friend Jim Amos.

Robert is preceded in death by his sister Cynthia Mumford.

Robert had a very successful career in sales at GE and retired after 40 years. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran. Robert was very involved with First Lutheran Church in Strongsville as a mentor to the 7th and 8th graders in the confirmation program for several years and was an active member of the choir. In Robert's younger years he was a band member of The Five Jacks, playing guitar and singing. In his free time Robert enjoyed golfing, Raquette ball, and tennis. Robert never met a stranger in his life, quickly becoming friends with everyone. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Robert to First Lutheran Church in Strongsville.
