It is with great sadness that the family of Robert "Bob" J. Turnbaugh of Medina, OH, announces his passing on Monday, September 23, 2019, at the age of 71 after a hard-fought battle with heart disease.

He was born on January 1, 1948 to the late Robert P. and Mary E. (Kraus) Turnbaugh in Wadsworth, OH, Bob graduated from Medina High School in the class of 1966.  He honorably served in the US Army as a Drill Sargent and he retired from Wellman Friction Products.  Bob enjoyed golfing, bowling, and after retiring became a 'taxi service' to family and friends without hesitation when called upon.  But most of all, he enjoyed having a cold one with his son, lunches with his mom and siblings, and just spending time with family and friends.

Bob is survived by, and will be deeply missed by his forever friend, companion, and soul mate of 41 years, Paula Lichty.

He is also survived by his children, Douglas (Leta) Turnbaugh, Janet (Gary) Ackerman; brother, Michael; sister, Nancy (Earl dec.) Kanzeg; grandchildren, Katelyn Turnbaugh, Nicholas Ackerman; brothers-in-law, Ned (Sue) Lichty, Jr., Neal (Diana) Lichty, Mark (Carmen) Lichty, Matthew Lichty; and one niece and two nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Ned, Sr. and Dot Lichty; and brother-in-law, David Lichty.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court St, Medina, OH 44256 with the funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2019 with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Seville, OH.
