Ronald Theodore Fritz, Sr., 89, of Brunswick, died March 5 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was the loving husband of Carol (Murry) Fritz to whom he was married for more than 60 years.

Ron was born Nov. 11, 1936, in Erie, PA, to the late Theodore and Ottilla Fritz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Fritz.

He graduated from Perry High School in Pittsburgh, PA, and attended Carnegie Mellon University. Ron proudly served in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.

Ron retired from Plant Systems in North Olmsted, where he was an engineering manager.

He was a member of Brunswick Eagles Aerie 3505 for 41 years and served as treasurer for many years.

As much as Ron enjoyed his kids' sports and other activities when they were growing up, it paled to the joy he had watching his grandkids participate in their many activities.

Ron was an avid bowler and golfer. He twice rolled 299 games and later made up for those near misses by getting his first hole in one. He was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and later became a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers.

He is also survived by three sons, Ronald T. Fritz Jr. (Lisa) of Charlotte, NC; Kevin P. Fritz (Cheryl) of Medina; David T. Fritz (Lelia) of Perrysburg; a daughter, Julie A. (Fritz) Divozzo (Jason) of Oakland Township, MI; six grandchildren, Kyle Fritz of Medina; Ethan Fritz of Streetsboro; Matthew Fritz of Cincinnati; Megan Fritz of Perrysburg; Sydney Divozzo of Miami, FL; and Mallory Divozzo of Oakland Township, MI.

The family will welcome guests from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:30 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH. Please meet at church. Ron will be laid to rest at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick.
