Ronald (Skinner) Kenneth Wheeler, Sr., 77 of Brunswick passed away peacefully on October 15, 2014 at Hospice of Medina. Ronald was born November 29, 1936 to the late Harold Edward and Edith Ilean (nee Helmick) Wheeler in German Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from German Township High School in Pennsylvania and proudly served in the US Marine Corps as an MP in the Marines from March 4, 1954-March 3, 1957. While in the service he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupational Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Ronald married to Alice Joyce (nee Shultz) Wheeler on June 27, 1963. They were a couple for 54 years. He retired as a foreman from Republic Steel in 1992. In his spare time, Ronald Sr. enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, watching sporting events and mostly spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Alice; children Ronald Allen Wheeler, Rhonda Kaye (Wheeler) Birckbichler (Dave Birckbichler), Ronald Kenneth Wheeler Jr. (Pamela), Brenda Ilene Wheeler (Steve Seredich), Joyce Elizabeth (Wheeler) Lamp (Bryan Lamp) and Ann Marie (Wheeler) Banas (Conrad Banas); stepchildren Charles Neal Paxton (Jackie) and William Perry Paxton (Gina); 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister Margaret (Peggy) Maimone. He is preceded in death by brother Robert Wheeler and step-daughter Sandra Jane Bohl. Visitation will be held at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd. Brunswick, OH 44212 on Monday October 20, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Services will be held on Tuesday at 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
