Ronald Stanley
Kesek
December 23, 1939 – April 4, 2026
MSgt Ronald S. Kesek delivered his final OORAH on April 4, 2026, at his home in Seville, OH with his daughters, Rhonda and Lisa, by his side.
Born in Detroit, MI December 23, 1939, to Stanley and Lottie (nee Sniezyk). A graduate of Sweetest Heart of Mary High School, he met his high school sweetheart Diane (nee Zielinski), they married August 25, 1962. Ron's first career was the United States Marine Corps from 1958 – 1979. This career took him through the Vietnam War, including infamous the TET offensive. However, it was his marriage and 3 daughters he would say was his pride, joy and fulfillment.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, Ron's roots took the family back to Detroit where he embarked on his second career with the United States Postal Service from 1980-2003. Ron spent many a year trolling the Detroit River for walleye with his friend Ray creating the most fantastic far-fetched fishing stories. He loved swapping hunting stories with his nephews and grandson, Cody. After Ron & Diane retired, they followed their daughters to Ohio to maintain the family unit. Ron reigniting his drive for golfing again with his best friend Jerry Clapper. He shared this activity with nieces and nephews, Kerry, John, Johnny Sidney and Rob. Ron has always taken great pride in the appearance of his home. He liked to keep his yard "high and tight" too. He could often be seen on his lawn mower or tooling around the yard wearing his cowboy hat. Other pastime activities he enjoyed were caring for his chickens and the never-ending antics of his dogs, Gunny and Edna. Ron loved all sports – but Michigan teams took preference. The man could recite statistics like an encyclopedia! Ron supported every Michigan team. As a 21-year Veteran, Ron also stayed true to his brothers and sisters. He was a Post Commander Walter Lukowski Jr. VFW 5170 in Detroit, MI; Post Commander VFW Post 6784 in Harper Woods, MI; Post Commander 5137, Medina, OH; Color Guard Commander Chapter 154 V.V.A., Mt. Clemens, MI; Color Guard Commander, Post 5137 Medina, OH, and a life-time volunteer with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
Ron was preceded in death by his high-school sweetheart and wife of 52 years Diane (2014), his daughter Suzanne (1989). He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda and Lisa; grandson, Cody (Caitlin); granddaughter Samantha (Josh); great-grandsons, Connor and Derrick; great-granddaughter Anabel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots program through Marine Corps League – Medina County Detachment 569 at email Mclmedina569@outlook.com or your local dog shelter.
Family will receive friends on Friday, April 10th, 2026 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm, with the Funeral Service immediately following at 7:00 pm in the Waite Funeral Home 765 N Court St., Medina, OH.
