September 16, 1939 – August 12, 2024
Ronald Fredrick Ketchum, known affectionately as Ronnie, passed away August 12, 2024, at the age of 84, in Strongsville, Ohio. Born on September 16, 1939, in Elyria, Ohio, he was the cherished son of the late Fred and Iona (nee Pickard) Ketchum.
He leaves behind his beloved spouse of 47 years, Carol A. (nee Murphy) Ketchum, and a loving family that includes his sister, Carol Ketchum Kauffman (Harold, deceased); brother, Jerry Ketchum (Rose); children, Bruce Ketchum (Allison) and Virginia Ketchum Espinoza (Manuel); and step-children, Lynnette Marstellar (Elaine), David Marstellar (Denise), and Nancy Marstellar Tomassi (Eric). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Aimee Ketchum Walsh (Dennis), Christopher Ketchum, Jordan Brill, Jake Espinoza, Brandon Marstellar (Carianne), Jessica Marstellar Alexander (Matt), Madison Tomassi, and Dominic Tomassi; as well as four great grandchildren, Ashten, Parker, Catalyn, and Cayde.
Ronnie retired from the Ford Motor Company, where he spent many years contributing to the auto industry with his skills and dedication. His work ethic was admired by his colleagues and has left a lasting impact on all who worked alongside him.
A man of many interests, Ronnie was known for his loving, caring, and fun personality. He had a passion for cooking, pig-roasting, woodworking, fishing, and traveling, as well as spending time outside in his garden. He was a member of John W. Barkley Masonic Lodge No. 621, Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, and he was also a Shriner, where he contributed to numerous charitable activities.
The family will welcome guests from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday August 15, 2024, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio, with a Masonic Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronnie's memory can be made to the Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice of Southwest General, 18659 Drake Road, Strongsville, OH 44136.
