Rose Marie Wichowski (nee: Lavingno), age 85, of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, in Medina. She was born on June 27, 1940, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Vincent and Anna (nee: Carsillo) Lavingno.

Rose Marie graduated from East Side High School in Newark and later met the love of her life, Eugene. The two were married at St. Aloysius Church in Newark and shared 66 wonderful years together. Rose Marie worked in accounting for various banks throughout her career. She was a devoted wife and mother who especially enjoyed knitting and creating for those she loved. She was also a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Medina, OH.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Eugene Paul Wichowski; son, Raymond Wichowski and wife Lauren; sister, Theresa Matrisciano and husband Joseph; and son-in-law, Mike Carlson.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Diane (nee Wichowski) Carlson; and brother, Carmen Lavingno.

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, Ohio. Committal services will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA).
