Russell E. "Bud" Duck, 85, of Brunswick, Ohio, passed away April 26, 2026. He was born April 1, 1941, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to the late Foster A. and Geraldine M. (Runyeon) Duck. Russell was a longtime Brunswick resident for over 50 years.
Bud proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam. He went on to build a successful career as a computer engineer, working for Unisys for 33 years. He was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church for over 40 years, where he served as an usher and was actively involved in Keenagers. Bud enjoyed NASCAR, Penn State football, Cleveland Indians baseball, trains, eagles, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with his family. He also had a fondness for black jelly beans, scrapple, and peppermint patties.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Bonnie (Simon) Duck; his children, Cathy Campensa, Denise (Steve) Tommer, Jeanine (Bob) Price, and Russ Duck Jr.; grandchildren, Heather, Jonathan, Morgan, Rachael, Alexandra, Allison, Nicholas, Makayla (Tyler), Raelyn, and Skylar (Faustino); nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and his brother, Glenn (Karen) Duck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis Sr. and Roger; sisters, Joanne, Jackie, Nancy, and Deb; and grandchildren, Angela, Kimberly, and Randal.
The family will welcome guests from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church, 3480 Laurel Road, Brunswick, Ohio, with visitation at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Bud will be interred with military honors at Eastlawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Bud's name to the the Parkinson's Foundation.
