On the morning of January 7, 2026, C. Russell (Russ) Huston quietly passed away.

Russ was born in Cleveland to C. Russell and Arlyn (Pearson) Huston, the fifth of six children.  After graduating from Brush High School, he went on to earn advanced degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University and Kent State University.

Russ proudly served his country in the United States Air Force with the rank of major.  After being honorably discharged, he became a dedicated educator for more than 30 years, many of them as the principal of Brunswick High School.

Before beginning his career as an educator, he married his high school sweetheart Angie in 1957; they celebrated their 68th anniversary in 2025. He and his wife and children made Medina their home in 1966.

He is survived by his wife and his loving children, Andrew and Ann. They will receive visitors on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home on 765 North Court Street in Medina, Ohio. A committal service with military honors will be led by Reverend Kelly Aughenbaugh on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:15 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road Rittman, Ohio. Please arrive by 11:00 a.m.
