Sally J. (Bloom) Bauer, age 86, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024, in Medina, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 15, 1937, in Lindsey, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Marie (Winkle) Bloom. Sally attended Freemont Rose High School Class of 1955, she went on to attend Heidelburg College in Tiffin, Ohio and then on to Mt. Siani Hospital in Cleveland, where she trained to be a nurse. Sally was a 50-year member of Medina UCCC and earned the Tom Evans Award (presented annually to individuals or groups who have made sacrifices of their time and energy and talent for the good of others.) She was also a long-time member of the King's Daughter's organization. Sally felt a calling to take care of children, she always watched teachers' kids so that they could teach in the community. She always had an infant, little ones, or both in her home over the years. Sally loved cooking, sewing, and was an avid reader. She shared a love of the outdoors and enjoyed traveling whenever she could. She also spent much of her time working in her yard whenever she could. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.

Sally is survived by her beloved husband of over 64 years, Bruce Bauer; her devoted children, Kolleen (Mike) Jodway and Alan (Kecia) Bauer; her 3 cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Lynnea) Jodway, Chris (Leighann) Jodway, McKenna Bauer; and her 3 precious great grandchildren, Milena, Jack, and Isabel.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256. A funeral service will take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with her interment at Spring Grove Cemetery immediately following.
