Sally A. Kriner

Sally Ann (Work) Kriner, 88, passed away September 3, 2026. She was born July 22, 1938, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, to Carl Work and Elizabeth (McDermott) Sturm.

Sally shared many wonderful years with her beloved late husband, Robert Joseph Kriner. Together, Bob and Sally built a family and a life centered on love, faith, and generosity.

Sally is survived by her daughter, Diane (Frank) Linkenberg; sons, Joseph (Kelly) Kriner and Scott Kriner; grandchildren, Amanda, Robby (Jill), and AJ (Lexi); and great-grandchildren, Emmitt, Elliott, and Jack.

She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Tom (Bunny) Work, Rick (Sue) Work, and Sue (George) Derov; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Kriner, Maryann Kriner, and Mary Sue Kriner; and nieces, nephews, and their children, including Kevin (Daniella), Michele (Jeff), Debbie (Sam), Julie, Matthew (Kathleen), and Patrick (Jennie). Her brother-in-law, Don Kriner, preceded her in death.

Wherever life took her, Sally made friends, became involved in her church and community, and formed lasting connections. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Parish in Cleveland, Ohio; St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana; and St. Ambrose Catholic Parish in Brunswick, Ohio.

Sally had a lifelong love of reading. She shared that love with her community through her work at the Johnson County Public Library in Whiteland, Indiana, and with her family through the example she set and special snuggle time spent reading.

Ice cream, games, music, and time with family were among the simple pleasures that brought Sally happiness. She laughed often and easily and especially enjoyed gathering around the table for a good card game, conversation, and the company of those she loved.

Grandma Sally to her grandchildren and Aunt Sally to her nieces and nephews, Sister, Wife, Mom -Sally was so many things to those who loved her dearly. Her time with her family will always be associated with love, laughter, and treasured family memories.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court Street, Medina, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, date and time to be announced. Following Mass, Sally will be laid to rest beside Bob at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.

The family is grateful to the staff of The Inn at CoalRidge for the kindness and care they gave Sally during the three years she called it home, including her final year in memory care.
