Samuel Howard
Becherer
December 30, 1988 – January 23, 2026
Samuel Howard Becherer, age 37, of Hinckley, Ohio, passed away on January 23, 2026. The son of Gregory and Beth (Molenda) Becherer, Sam was born December 30, 1988, in Columbus, Ohio.
Sam embodied the spirit of servitude. He was an avid learner and an enthusiastic conversationalist with a deep interest in the world around him – and, above all, in the people in it. In all he did, he showed kindness, generosity, and a wholehearted dedication to helping others for which he never required recognition.
Sam is lovingly remembered by his parents, Gregory and Beth (Molenda) Becherer; his sisters, Sarah Becherer (Timothy Jacques) and Susannah (Samuel) Cheraso; his niece, Francesca; his nephews, Graham and Sullivan; and his grandmother, Joan Molenda. He is also remembered with love by many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl Molenda and Richard and Shirley Becherer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at St. Colette Catholic Church, 330 W. 130th St., Brunswick, Ohio. A public visitation will be held immediately preceding the Mass from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Sam will be laid to rest privately at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hinckley, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions in Sam's memory to Ottawa County Family Advocacy Center . Sam spoke openly about OCFAC regarding the difference he felt it was making in the community and how proud he was to be part of that work. Donations made in Sam's memory will help ensure that his spirit of service lives on. Contributions can also be sent directly to the Family Advocacy Center at 570 S. McKinley Dr., Port Clinton, OH 43452.
Memories and words of comfort may be shared with Sam's family on his tribute page at www.waitefuneralhome.com.
