Sarah M.
Marino
August 21, 1925 – September 25, 2020
Sarah M. Marino died peacefully surrounded by family, but not without a fight, on September 25th in Fairlawn, OH.
She was born on August 21, 1925 in Buffalo, NY to the late Carlo and Rosalie Marino, Sicilian immigrants. She was an amazingly resilient woman & strongly independent. Her energy and drive was admired by all that knew her. Sarah was known to have a fire-cracker personality with a heart of gold.
Sarah worked for Joseph & Feiss as a skilled seamstress then manager for 40 years. She provided a life for herself & her family that was filled with memories boating on Lake Erie, dancing to polka music, an abundance of Italian food & endless laughter.
She was the rock & support system from which her family was built upon. Sarah will forever be remembered as their biggest cheerleader, their shoulder to cry on & their strongest yet non-judgmental voice to go to for advice.
Sarah is survived by her beloved daughter, Kim Buchek (Michael), her 2 grandchildren, who will forever refer to her as their best friend; Kristen Lovejoy & Jonathan Buchek (Jenna). Her 5 cherished great grandchildren; Roger, Lexi, Theodore, Nola & Dorothy & her 3 thick as thieves sisters, Antoinette, Santina & Frances. She is preceded in death by her partner John Cruschinski, brothers Joseph Marino, Frank Marino & her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am, Monday, October 5, 2020 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina 44256. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. Masks are required and all social distance guidelines apply.
