Born on April 30, 1988, Sarah Alice Walzer passed away in her sleep on February 8, 2010 after spending a month as the youngest resident of Pearlview Nursing Home in Brunswick.
Her family would like to thank their staff for all the tender loving care given to her during that time.
Sarah was a 2006 graduate of Brunswick High School before attending Bowling Green State University and Lorain Community College as an Art Major. She could transform any canvas in to a beautiful mosaic with just a few magical strokes of a brush. Her love of amusement parks, especially rollercoasters earned her the nickname of "Coaster" at an early age. She spent the last few summers as a ride operator at Cedar Point and was also an employee of the hotel at Lake Side Resort near the trailer her parents owned in Marblehead. She spent winters at the trailer and offered shelter to other young people less fortunate than herself. She truly had a heart of gold and will be known as "Saint Sarah of Cedar Point."
Sarah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Alice Walzer and Ray Oldenburgh and cousin Karl d'Aquin. She is survived by her parents, Stephen and Susan Walzer, and sister Lisa of Brunswick. Others who will miss her are Uncle Mike Walzer and Aunt Kathleen Hayes of Akron and cousin Joel d'Aquin, Aunt Chris and Uncle Doug Landry of Stow, cousins Molly, Michelle, and Patrick; grandmother Phyllis Oldenburgh of Parma, Uncle David Oldenburgh and cousin Brian of Bay Village, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Glenn Goodwin of Broadview Heights and cousins, Allison and Michelle. Sarah will also be missed by many other relatives and close friends including Jeff Fordyce, Sarah Kiziah, Sarah Martin, and Kyle Ulrich.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 11,2010 from 4-8 PM. Services will be on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
