Scott Norman Smith, age 60, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, September 28, 2024. He was born on May 17, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Paul C. and Patricia G. (France) Smith. Scott graduated as part of Brooklyn High School Class of 1982; he went on to attend The Ohio State University where he was a student athletic trainer for various sports teams. He worked for 25 years at Southwest General as a Physical Therapist. It goes without saying as an Alum of The Ohio State University that he was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan. He also was an avid follower of the Arsenal Gunners. He volunteered his time at the Cleveland Natural History Museum and was an active member of Strongsville United Methodist Church. Scott's 15 minutes of fame came as a contestant on Jeopardy with Alex Trebek in 1991 of which he loved every minute of the experience.

Scott is survived by his two children, AJ (Roni) Smith, and Tori Smith; his former wife, Vanessa Smith; sister, Sandi (Tom) George; and uncle, Bill (Diane) France; and numerous cousins and lifelong friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul C. and Patricia G. (France) Smith.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Strongsville UMC, 13500 Royalton Road, Strongsville, OH 44136 immediately followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. (The family requests that you wear your favorite Ohio State Gear or scarlett and gray clothing to give Scott a proper sendoff.)
