Shirley Ann
Biegel
September 22, 1942 – April 9, 2025
On April 9th, 2025, Shirley Ann Biegel lost her long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Shirley was born in Lodi, Ohio on September 22nd,1942, to Ralph and Betty Yeager. She spent most of her childhood growing up in Mallet Creek until moving into Medina when she was a young teen. She attended Medina High School, Class of 1960 and in 1962 she married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Biegel. Ray and Shirley enjoyed fifty-one years of marriage and had three children: Sherie Biegel, Bill Biegel (Kellie), and Michael Biegel (Mary).
For a time, Shirley stayed home to care for her children before deciding to pursue a career in real estate. For over thirty years, she enjoyed a successful career as a realtor working for local real estate companies. Shirley delighted in several hobbies. As an avid reader, she would devour books, especially mysteries. As an antique collector, she would frequent flea markets, auctions, and antique shops. And as a baseball fan, she cheered for her Guardians.
However, Shirley's favorite thing of all was being a grandmother to Michael Biegel, Jr (Karin)., Megan Biegel (Jacob Moser), Molly Biegel, and Gracie Biegel, as well as being a great grandmother to Norah Moser and Zelahni Higgins. They were the apples of her eye, and she loved them beyond measure.
Shirley's family would like to extend special thanks to Ohio Living Home Health and Palliative Care for all their help during this difficult time. We would also like to thank Shirley's home care provider, Tina Sergent, for her care and compassion over the past two years.
Along with her children and grandchildren, Shirley leaves behind her brothers, Jim Yeager and Bruce (Terri) Johnson, and sister, Diane DeVault. She also says good-bye to her beloved sister-in-law, Cecelia Bradley, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Shirley's memory be made to the Medina County SPCA, 8790 Guilford Road, Seville, Ohio 44273.
