Obituary

Shirley Mae Olsick (née Moschgat), 91, of Medina, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and family on September 14, 2026.

Shirley was born on July 21, 1935, in Lilly, Pennsylvania, to the late Albert and Alberta (née Lingafelt) Moschgat. On September 29, 1956, she married the love of her life, George Olsick. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage that lasted just shy of 70 years.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Shirley’s world revolved around her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, George; her daughter, Kimberly (Douglas) Burns; her cherished grandsons, Kyle and Tyler Korzinski; her granddaughter, Jessica Burns; and her precious great-grandson, Leo Tomanek.

Shirley came from a large, loving family and is survived by her sisters, Lois (Raymond) Gould of Inwood, WV, Marie Dougherty of Portage, PA, Joan "Cookie" Latouche of Lilly, PA, and Linda (Richard) Sweeney of Lilly, PA; her sister-in-law, Dory Moschgat of Cresson, PA; and her brothers-in-law, Donald Corvina of Lilly, PA, and Joseph Olsick of Davison, MI.

She was reunited in heaven with her parents; her brothers, Gerald and Thomas Moschgat; her sisters, Barbara Moschgat and Sandra Corvina; her brothers-in-law, John Dougherty, William Latouche, Peter Stohon, and Charles Olsick; and her sisters-in-law, Catherine Stohon, Betty Olsick, and Helen Olsick.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Cleveland Clinic Hospice, with a special thank you to Ashley and Dawn for their amazing care, support, and necessary pep talks. They also wish to thank Waite & Son Funeral Home for their guidance and compassion during this difficult time.

In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no public funeral service. A private burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Valley City, Ohio. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to Shirley’s family at www.waitefuneralhome.com.
