Steven Carl Vitas

Steven Carl Vitas, 39 years old, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on September 7, 2026. He was born on July 1, 1987 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Steven served his country for six years in the United States Army. He was a master automotive mechanic whose passion for cars was matched only by his love for his family and friends. He earned an associate degree in Business and Criminal Justice and took great pride in his work and the many friendships he formed with his coworkers at OAC. A true kid at heart, he enjoyed collecting vintage toys, playing video games with his sons, and gathering his family for movie nights. He will be remembered for his youthful enthusiasm, and the lasting impression he made on everyone who knew him.

Steven is survived by his beloved wife of seven years, Rebekah Joy Vitas; cherished children Logan, Bailey, Skylar and Ronan; bonus children Lexi, Sabena and Landon; siblings Kayla, Kate, Herbie, Ben, Lauren and Damien; Uncle Jim and Aunt Michelle who always supportive him throughout his lifetime; beloved cousins Travis, Jared, Zack, Ryan and Zilly; many nieces and nephews; countless others who made up an extensive community of friends and family; parents Mark Vitas and Elaina Hamel. He is preceded in death by his brother David.

Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2233 Abbeyville Rd., Valley City, Ohio. Reception to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Das Winehaus, 3232 Erhart Rd., Litchfield, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation.
