Sunior P. "Sonny" Jones, 91, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Western Reserve in Medina on February 25, 2025.

He was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on July 18, 1933 to John Henry and Dollie (Weeks) Jones.

Sonny (Pop) was loved by many. He adored spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed travelling and loved Cleveland sports. Sonny was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Brunswick. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of UAW Local 1005.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Irene; children, Tammy (the late Blaise) and Sherri (Paul); grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda (Derrick), Katrina (Nathaniel), Christopher (Lydia), Alexa and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Cora, Braelyn, Emori, Mara and Ava; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Ricky; and siblings, Arthur, Oscar, Pruitt, William, Elbert, Leo, Basil, James, Junior, Elsie, Maggie (U L) and Bertha.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, March 3, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church, 3480 Laurel Rd., Brunswick, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at church. Interment will take place at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick.
