Susan C. (née Risher) Carmack, 84, of Hinckley Township Ohio, passed away on August 22, 2025.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Raymond.  She is survived by her children Tony Carmack (Joanna); Rae Lehman (Joseph); Elizabeth Carmack (Luis); Scott Carmack (Helen); and grandchildren Daniel, Nathan, and Dani.

The love Susan shared with her family was deep and leaves a legacy in the hearts of those who knew her.  She lived a life of faith and quiet curiosity.  She held—and shared—her love of music (Elvis Presley), poetry (Rod McKuen), and knowledge (Jeopardy).  She had a sharp and sly wit and sense of humor, and she'd pulled a few (gentle) pranks on her unsuspecting children.

Born to Charles and Rosina Risher in Detroit, Michigan, Susan grew up the middle child in a large family.  She belonged to the Holy Redeemer parish, as did her future spouse, Raymond Carmack.  Like generations before her, she was baptized, confirmed, and wed at Holy Redeemer.  Once married, Susan moved to rural Ohio where she raised her four children.  She embraced the country life tending the garden, canning vegetables, and attending auctions.  She was an avid reader, bowler, crafter, and genealogist.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m.
