Susan Marie Morrissey, age 59 of Medina, passed away at home on September 13, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Barberton on May 1, 1957, to Bernard and Joanne (Kindig) Coudriet. Susan was a longtime special education teacher in Akron and more recently served as Administrative Assistant at Midwest Spec. Susan was formerly on the Mahoning County Children Services Board. She was very active at St. Francis Xavier Church and School: as a part of the bereavement team, welcoming committee, as well as a volunteer at the elementary school. Susan had a special affinity for Archbishop Hoban High School as a JAM volunteer and helped with the Extravaganza Fundraiser for 8 years. She founded the Chestnut Hill Drive Women's Book Club, and was an avid reader and gardener.
Susan is survived by her husband of 29 years, Tim Morrissey; children Conor and Gillian Morrissey; parents; brothers Phil (Pam) Coudriet, Marty (Cindy) Coudriet, Matt (Leigh Ann) Coudriet; sister Paula (Kevin) Coombes; father- in-law, Joe (Corky) Morrissey; sisters- and brothers-in-law Margie (Gregg) Melfe, Kevin (Kathy) Morrissey, Matt (Cindy) Morrissey, and Brian (Julianne) Morrissey. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Barbara (Brunner) Morrissey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina. The family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, September 16, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina.
