Susan Mary Reddy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Born on April 25,1942 in Cleveland, Ohio, Susan was the daughter of the late William and Violet Thompson. Along with her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Reddy; her beloved extended family including aunts and uncles, William (Marge) DeRose, Mary (Robert) Lewis, Robert (Kathryn) DeRose; and her cherished cousin Barb Lewis.
She is survived by her children, Michael Reddy and Kris (Scott) Murta; grandchildren, Paige Murta, Shayne Murta, Nicole (Martin) Sleeper, Matt (Elizabeth) Reddy; and cousins, William (Cindy) DeRose, Robert (Leslie) Lewis, Kym DeRose, Matthew DeRose and Christian DeRose.
Susan lived a life of kindness and grace. She is remembered lovingly by all who knew her as a fun and creative spirit moving through life at her own pace. Famous for being everyone's favorite, Susan was a loyal and steadfast friend, confidante, and co-conspirator.
She was a proud graduate of Berea High School where she made lifelong friends and was active in sports and clubs. Susan attended Ohio State University to study Education and then adjusted course going to work for American Airlines before getting married and starting a family.
After raising her children, she had a rewarding career as a secretary for the Medina High School Guidance department. She enjoyed the challenges and rewards of providing student services and administrative assistance.
After retirement, Susan and Neil moved to Pawleys Island, South Carolina. She spent her time golfing, traveling, and volunteering, channeled her creativity into interior decorating, and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and dogs.
Susan had a gift for cultivating deep friendships and shared happiness wherever she was. She leaves a legacy of compassion and the ability to bring joy to those around her. Her light continues to shine through those who loved her.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery columbarium, 785 E. Washington St., Medina, Ohio 44256.
