Terrence 'Bear' McGuire, 73, of Medina, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Terrence was born on September 7, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Mary (Joyce) McGuire.

Terrence grew up in Pittsburgh. He was a United States Army veteran. He had a successful career as a Tool and Die Maker for General Motors for 41 years.  He enjoyed golfing with his friends, watching the Penguins, vacationing at the beach, and more importantly making memories with his family.  Bear was very active in the church community and enjoyed fellowship with other believers.  From playing goalie when his sons were young, to supporting their interests in sports and music, he always put his family first.  Bear enjoyed the company of others and always was able to easily make friends and strike up a conversation.  He had a relentless work ethic and was incredibly mechanically gifted.  Bear's love for family extended to his grandchildren and he made many memories with them over the years.  His impact on people extended beyond the family, as he genuinely had a heart for people.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (Mastilak) McGuire, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage; his sons Ryan (51), Stephen (47), daughter-in-law Susan (46); grandchildren Evan (22), Braeden (20), Addison (13) and Gavin (11); and brothers John "Jack" McGuire Jr. (74) and Michael "Mick" McGuire (70).

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Daniel McGuire.

Friends and family are invited to gather at Waite Funeral Home: 765 North Court Street, Medina, Ohio 44256, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 12 – 2 pm, with a memorial service at 2 pm. Inurnment with Army Honors will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 1:15 pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
