Thomas J. Chase, age 72, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021. He was born April 10, 1949, to Robert and Eleanor (nee Halupnik) Chase in Cleveland, Ohio. Thomas served his country in the US Army in the 101 st Airborne division during the Vietnam conflict from '69-'70 as a door-gunner aboard a Huey helicopter and participated in the Battle of Ripcord. He enjoyed traveling, watching his sons and grandsons football games, an animal lover but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Left to celebrate Thomas' life is his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda (nee Terifaj); his loving children, Todd (Heather) and Matthew (Melissa); his cherished grandchildren, Camden and Jaxson; his nieces and nephews; sister, Gloria (Ray) Kormos; brother-in-law James Terifaj; and many extended family and friends.
The family will welcome visitors Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 4 to 8PM at Waite & Son Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, Ohio. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 10:30 AM with one-hour prior visitation at St. Ambrose Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick. Interment to follow with Military Honors at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made in Thomas' honor to the "Ripcord Association." Mail to: Lee Widjeskog, 493 Stillman Ave., Bridgeton, NJ 08302 ~or~ Your Local ASPCA.
