Tom Hazelwood passed away on September 9, 2024, at age 84, in Medina, Ohio. He was born on January 25, 1940, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Alvey T. and Catherine A. (Harper) Hazelwood.

Tom proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. In his career, he went on to work for The Columbia Gas Company for 37 years, where he retired as a manager. Tom was an avid reader and could often be found with a good book. He also loved nature, and he greatly cherished his time spent outdoors. Tom's greatest joy was his time spent fishing on any lake he could find. Those who knew Tom well appreciated his deep sense of humor and his love for any meal that came across his path. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Rebecca L. (Roberts) Hazelwood; children, Scott Hazelwood, Kristin (Stephan) Ibos, and Kerri Hazelwood; granddaughter, Sydney Hazelwood; "grandchildren", Kirt and Nate Trimble, sister, Patricia Coffman, and a lifetime of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and four siblings.

A Celebration of Tom's life will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256.
