Trudy Ann Volcansek, age 73, passed away on September 24, 2023, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born on February 24, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John and Louise (Perz) Betz.
Trudy was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends for holidays, birthdays, special occasions and gatherings. She loved crafting and decorating and was always excited to give her beautiful crafts to family and friends. Trudy was always willing to help in any way she could. She was kind and giving and had a loving and generous soul. Trudy was an animal lover and loved her cats dearly. Her heart went out to animals in need, and she often cared for strays nearby as well. She was a wonderful example to her nieces, nephews and their children and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Dennis Michael Volcansek; sister, Patricia Kroll; sister-in-law Margaret Betz; her nieces and nephews, Christopher (Melissa) Betz, Stephanie (Frank) Costanzo, Laura (Graydon) Bullard, Alycia (Brendon) O'Connor, and Mike Sanders; great nieces and nephews, Cayden, Chase, John, Lily, Henry, Jaydon and Jordan; Dennis' siblings and nieces and nephews; along with a lifetime of collected friends.
Trudy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Betz and Michael Sanders; and brother-in-law, Tom Kroll.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N.Court Street, Medina, Ohio 44256. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville Ohio,44273 on Wednesday, October4, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. Kindly meet at the cemetery at 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Trudy's memory be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) National Service Foundation, PO Box 145525, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-5525.
