Wayne R. Crum, 90, of Medina, passed on to be with the lord Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, in Medina.
He was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Barberton. Wayne served his family, friends, community and church for 90 years. He was an active member of Medina First Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and trustee. Wayne owned and operated Crum, Davis Evans Insurance Co. (currently Perkins Insurance) for 30 years and also was a school bus driver for Medina City Schools. He was an active participant in the Lion's Club and Kiwanis Club in Medina. Wayne proudly served the Medina community through his participation in the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and the Medina City Zoning Committee. He was a veteran and served his country in the Navy during World War II.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 71 years, Josephine (nee Seeley) Crum of Medina; daughters, Toni (Fred) Abele of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Rhonda Crum/Sue Reynolds of New Vienna, Ohio; grandchildren, Doug (Julie) Pelton, Bob (Claudia) Pelton and Andi (Tracey) Greene; great-grandchildren, Paige, Bobby, Bennet, Nathan and Katie Pelton, Morgan Sweeney and Madison Beal; and brother, Glen (Geraldine) Crum of Medina.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Leatha, Dorothy, Hazel and Betty, and brothers, Clyde and Robert.
Service: 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. Pastor Mark Milioni will officiate.
Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, Medina.
Visiting hours: 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
